Yes — no credit card. Every account begins with 14 days of Premium; when that ends you can choose Starter and keep going free for another 3 months — 1 recording a day, up to 5 minutes — with the same protection as every plan: your trusted person, the check-in timer, and handover all work exactly the same. When the Starter period ends you’ll be invited to upgrade to keep recording — your existing videos stay safe and your handover protection continues either way.
Three things: recording length, video quality, and uploads. Standard ($4.99/month) records up to 5 minutes per video in up to 720p HD; Premium ($9.99/month) records up to 10 minutes in up to 1080p Full HD, and can upload existing videos from your device (2 a day, up to 100 MB each) — old camcorder files land at the date they were made. Both include every other feature — the protection features are never locked on any plan. (Starter records in 480p.)
Yes. You can move between Starter, Standard, and Premium any time from your account settings. Switching never affects videos you’ve already recorded.
Verified U.S. service members get 20% off any paid plan whenever they’re home, and pay nothing at all while actively deployed. Verify once — online, or by contacting us — and the discount, or the deployment pause, is applied to your account automatically.
At the end of 14 days we’ll ask you to choose: Starter (free for another 3 months, no card), Standard, or Premium. Until you choose, recording pauses — but nothing else does: every video you’ve made stays exactly where it is, your people can still watch, and your check-in and handover protection keep running. Your videos are never held hostage.
We give you a long grace period — your videos are never deleted immediately. You’ll receive reminders and always have time to download everything before anything is removed.
Your trusted person gets 180 days of free access to watch and download everything. After that, they can subscribe to continue the story, or download and close the account.
